1. Identify the layout and drawing version
Start with a named model and a dated drawing or configuration list. Ask whether dimensions describe the base footprint or include the overhead canopy height, and mark the boarding side and furniture positions. For DSPR, the 4 × 4 m Cabana lounge, 3 × 3 m Social Club bar and 3 × 4 m Blue Haven bar have different arrangements. A note saying “floating bar” leaves too much unspecified. Keep the approved revision with the quotation so that later colour or seating changes are recorded.
2. Ask for an item-by-item supplied list
Separate the platform, canopy, sofa or counter, table, chairs and boarding components from the pump, repair kit, storage bag and any mooring equipment. Record quantities, compatibility and which items need separate pricing. In particular, the Social Club listing includes four individual chairs, while the Blue Haven listing describes an open front deck and counter with a pump and repair kit. Do not carry the accessories from one model into another model’s quote.
3. Separate the standard reference from your final price
Use a listed product price as a starting point for the stated configuration. Ask the supplier to show changes to size, colours, logo placement, furniture and extra equipment as separate lines or as a clearly described revised package. Then confirm quantity, currency, quote validity and payment milestones in the written offer. This makes it easier to understand why two visually similar designs have different totals. There is no payment to submit a DSPR DOCK inquiry.
4. Define where delivery ends
Provide the delivery country and, when available, a postal code or destination port. Ask whether the offer ends at a port, terminal or delivery address, and have the supplier list which freight, import charges, local handling and unloading costs are included or excluded. Also request the packed dimensions, shipment weight and package count for access and storage planning. Do not assume that the inflated platform dimensions describe the delivery package.
5. Request operating information for the exact build
Before approving a purchase, request the written rated load, permitted occupancy, chamber inflation pressures, assembly instructions, mooring requirements and operating conditions for the chosen configuration. Check boarding access and your proposed water location with the responsible operator. A chair count, deck area or lifestyle image cannot establish those limits. If the supplier has not confirmed a value, keep it marked as pending instead of replacing it with an estimate from another model.
6. Agree the approval and dispatch checkpoints
Distinguish design review, production, dispatch and transit in the schedule. Confirm what starts each stage, what photos or video will be supplied before dispatch, and what happens if you request a specification change. Ask for written warranty coverage and the process for reporting a quality issue, including the order reference and supporting photos. The final schedule and support scope should relate to your order, rather than being inferred from a general website statement.
7. Resolve open items before comparing totals
Put both suppliers’ answers next to the same checklist. A lower quote may simply omit chairs, a pump, custom artwork or the final delivery leg. Ask for a revised offer with the missing items identified, then compare the written configurations. If you are still choosing a layout, send DSPR your intended use, available footprint and destination; a finished drawing is not required to begin the discussion.
Use this checklist beside each quotation
On a phone, swipe inside the table to compare the details.
| Quote item | Ask for this in writing | Clarify this gap |
|---|---|---|
| Model & layout | Named design, one deck level, dated drawing and furniture positions | “Floating platform” without an agreed layout |
| Dimensions | Base length and width; overall height where relevant; clear boarding area | Only a picture or total area |
| Furniture & components | Canopy, sofa/counter, table, chairs and boarding items with quantities | Seating shown but omitted from the list |
| Pump & accessories | Pump, power compatibility, repair kit, storage items and mooring scope | “Accessories included” without item names |
| Customization | Approved size, colours, logo artwork/position and additional costs | Changes agreed only in an earlier message |
| Delivered cost | Currency, quantity, delivery point and included/excluded charges | Product price treated as a delivered total |
| Packing & handling | Package count, packed dimensions, weight and unloading arrangements | Inflated dimensions used as packing dimensions |
| Operating information | Model-specific rated load, occupancy, pressures and setup instructions | Chair count used as passenger capacity |
| Approval & support | Drawing approval, inspection evidence, schedule and written warranty | No record of the approved revision or support scope |
